These creatures are intelligent and still considered rather warm and gentle. Coming from a Friesian stock, they were combined with Turkish, Barb, Spanish, and Neapolitan lines. In the beginning, they were used as carriage horses all over. Once they began to get noticed regarding how well they developed, breeders realized they could combine them with other powerful blood lines. At that point, they began breeding them with Thoroughbreds, Cleveland Bays, and Hanoverian styles to result in one strong horse.
